Range Control Officer - Operate the MSR radar to assist with the safe conduct oflive firing activities within the range danger area. Prep/De-Prep/Operate varioustypes of Instrumentation and data gathering equipment within the instrumentationteam.
Key Accountabilities
- Operation of Marine Surveillance Radar and CCTV in Range Control tomonitor the danger area. Contact ATC’s to open and close air space. Liaisewith Range Safety Boat as required. Add/check safety traces.
- Prep/De-Prep/Operate various types of Instrumentation and data gatheringequipment ranging from Doppler radars, HSDV cameras, CCTV, internal andexternal ballistic pressures, noise levels etc.
- Operation of Upper Met Balloons – calibrate sondes, inflate and launch MetBalloons to appropriate vertex, downloads and process results data.
- Carry out observing duties on battery when required using stopwatch andbinoculars.
Key Capabilities/Knowledge
- Excellent influencing and communication skills, with an ability to work with awide range of stakeholders.
- Able to engage appropriately with all levels of the business.
- Experience & Qualifications
- Experience with Microsoft office.
- Proficient Administration skills.
- Trade background (Electrical or electronics) or an IT background.
