You will work on a varied caseload involving residential conveyancing matters, assisting with transaction management, reviewing title documentation and supporting the progression of matters from instruction through to completion. The successful candidate will be expected to:

• assist with the management of residential conveyancing files from instruction to completion

• draft correspondence and legal documents under supervision

• conduct property searches and review search results

• prepare completion statements and assist with post-completion matters

• liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders and other parties involved in transactions

• manage deadlines and ensure procedural steps are completed in a timely manner

What We Are Looking For

You are likely to succeed in this role if you:

• enjoy working with detailed documentation and structured processes

• communicate clearly and professionally in writing

• pay close attention to detail and accuracy

• are organised and able to manage multiple matters simultaneously

• are comfortable working in a fast-paced transactional environment

Minimum Requirements

• law degree (LLB or equivalent)

• at least 1 year of experience working in residential conveyancing

• strong organisational and analytical ability

• excellent written communication skills

• strong attention to detail and administrative discipline

• a clear interest in property law and conveyancing

Application

Our recruitment process is designed to identify candidates with strong analytical ability, sound judgement and professional discipline. To apply, please send your CV together with brief answers to the questions below to info@barnes-law.co.uk. Please keep your responses concise and no longer than 150–200 words per answer:

  1. what attracted you to this role and why do you believe you would perform well in it?
  2. describe a situation where you had to manage detailed information or documentation. How did you ensure accuracy and organisation?
  3. in your view, what distinguishes a strong legal professional from an average one?

If you require a work visa to work in the United Kingdom, please confirm this in your application.

Applications that do not address the questions above will not be considered. Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to complete a short online assessment followed by a practical exercise and interview as part of the next stages of the recruitment process.
