We are recruiting for an In-House Lawyer to join our inhouse legal team. We seek applications from individuals currently working as a fee earning lawyer, as well as those in house in a broad corporate or commercial role, or in a compliance role at a law firm.
The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor, providing expert legal support and solutions on a range of regulatory, compliance, commercial contracts and data protection, professional conduct issues and from time to time support on claims and circumstances. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively develop projects and handle day-to-day queries from senior stakeholders, including senior management and committees.
This role may allow for remote working. You will join a team of senior lawyers who are Reed Smith’s legal team, with day to day reporting to the General Counsel, EMEA.

Responsibilities
- Advising on legal, regulatory and ethical standards applicable to the Firm and its employees.
- Investigating potential conduct issues.
- Designing and implementing compliance systems and procedures.
- Leading global risk management projects.
- Developing and rolling out their global risk management policies and providing training.
- Actively promote an ethical, inclusive and diverse working environment.
- Advising on contract issues and data protection queries.
Key Skills, Attributes and Experience
- English and Welsh qualified lawyer (preferably a solicitor).
- Have previous experience in an international law firm or similar, in either a time keeper or compliance role.
- Strong technical knowledge of legal and regulatory frameworks
- Strong analytical, research and presentation skills
