Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our amazing Hospitality Team. We are looking for a Relief Chef de Partie to assist our Sous Chef in managing all catering functions and the delivery of Hotel Services within Jewish Cares Homes and Community Centres. The Chef de Partie may oversee one area of the kitchen and will be responsible for the effective delivery of food services and customer care to an excellent standard. Accountable for maintaining food standards, meeting Health & Safety Regulations, handling finances and managing/developing a team with effective communication.This post is for a Relief/ Bank Chef de Partie working on an as and when required basis, to cover absence when needed.
Main duties of the job
What you will be doing:Supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver high-quality catering services, ensuring residents dignity, safety and wellbeing are always maintained. Monitoring food hygiene and Health & Safety practices, ensuring standards are met and recorded in line with organisational policies and legislation. Overseeing food production to ensure consistent quality and presentation. Supporting menu planning and introducing creative approaches to dishes and service. Reviewing and delivering menus regularly, considering seasonal availability, market trends and cultural requirements. Ensuring residents dietary needs are met, including specialist diets and cultural or religious preferences.What you will need:City & Guilds 7051/7062 or equivalent qualification and Level 2 Food Hygiene (or equivalent). Proven experience as a Chef, ideally within a multi-site or high-volume environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation, dietary requirements and allergens. Awareness of cultural food preferences, waste management, infection control, COSHH and CQC standards.
