Job Title: Conveyancing Assistant
Location: Central Manchester (Office-Based – 5 Days per Week)
Salary: £27,000 per annum
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Conveyancing Assistant to join a well-established and busy residential property team based in Central Manchester
This is an ideal role for someone with prior conveyancing experience who is looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced, supportive office environment. You will work closely with experienced fee earners, gaining exposure to the full conveyancing lifecycle.
The Role
You will provide essential support to fee earners, assisting with a varied caseload of residential property transactions from instruction through to post-completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting fee earners on a high-volume caseload of residential conveyancing matters
- Opening and closing client files, including AML and compliance checks
- Drafting standard correspondence and legal documents
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and third parties to provide updates
- Ordering searches and handling enquiries
- Assisting with exchange and completion processes
- Preparing completion statements and packs
- Submitting SDLT returns and Land Registry applications
- Maintaining accurate records on the case management system
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Assistant within a residential property team
- A solid understanding of the conveyancing process
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy workload
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail
- A proactive and team-focused attitude
