Help Shape the Future of Talent at Laing O'Rourke

At Laing O'Rourke, we don't just build infrastructure — we build careers, teams, and futures.

Are you a recruiter who thrives in high-volume, fast-paced environments? Do you enjoy partnering with stakeholders to find exceptional talent? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for a Resourcing Advisor to join our in-house Talent Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover). In this role, you'll help us attract and recruit top-tier talent to support our industry-leading projects and core functions — playing a pivotal role in delivering some of the UK's most iconic infrastructure.

As a valued member of our established and collaborative Resourcing team, you'll support both proactive workforce planning and day-to-day recruitment across a wide variety of roles. This is your chance to champion inclusive hiring practices, enhance our employer brand, and shape the future of talent at Laing O'Rourke.

The Role

You'll be responsible for recruiting white-collar professionals across a range of disciplines such as Commercial, Procurement, Technical, Enabling functions, and more — supporting hiring across key sectors including Defence, Healthcare, Nuclear, Science & Research, Green Energy, Data Centres, Rail, and Aviation.

This is a high-impact role within a supportive, close-knit team of ~15 recruitment professionals, based across our Dartford and Sale offices. Operating a direct delivery model, we are trusted business partners to our stakeholders - empowered to offer strategic advice, market insights, and tailored hiring solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Building trusted, consultative relationships with hiring managers to shape effective recruitment strategies.
  • Proactively sourcing talent via direct channels to build robust talent pipelines.
  • Managing a high-volume portfolio of vacancies while maintaining an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Promoting our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion in all hiring activity.
  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment processes, from attraction through to onboarding.
  • Advising on market trends, salary benchmarks, and resourcing challenges.
  • Supporting the continuous improvement of recruitment systems and processes, aligned with our digital transformation.
  • Partnering on future workforce planning and skill-short market campaigns.

About You

We're looking for a confident, adaptable recruiter who brings both operational excellence and a strategic mindset. Whether your experience lies in-house, in an agency, or in an RPO setting, what matters most is your ability to build relationships, move at pace, and bring energy to everything you do. You'll bring;

  • Proven experience in recruitment or talent acquisition - ideally in construction, engineering, or technical sectors.
  • A track record of managing 20+ vacancies through direct sourcing and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Strong sourcing skills, including Boolean search, talent pooling, ATS and job board expertise.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
  • A collaborative, people-first mindset with a passion for inclusion and continuous improvement.
  • Sound knowledge of recruitment best practices and employment legislation (CIPD or equivalent is a plus).
