Risk Analyst

We are currently partnering with a well-established financial services organisation who are seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to join their Risk, Permanent Control & Compliance team on a permanent basis.

Our client is recognised for their strong governance culture and commitment to delivering good customer outcomes. This position plays a key role in strengthening risk and control frameworks, supporting governance activities, and enhancing data-driven risk reporting across the organisation.

This is a full-time position, with attendance required in the office once or twice per week. The salary they're offering is £45,000 - £50,000 per annum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Providing analytical support on credit applications, portfolio assessments and budget planning
• Conducting monthly and quarterly control testing in line with the annual risk and control plan
• Maintaining and updating risk and control registers, ensuring data quality and accuracy
• Preparing risk MI, dashboards and reports for senior management and governance committees
• Assisting with the RCSA process and the annual Independent Testing Plan
• Supporting audit and regulatory engagements through evidence collation and verification

Experience required:

• 3–5 years’ experience in credit risk, operational risk or risk governance
• Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, including RCSA methodology
• Experience delivering monthly or quarterly control testing activities
• Exposure to credit analysis, portfolio assessment or financial risk assessment
• Experience working within financial services or a related regulated environment (desirable)
• Understanding of Consumer Duty principles and their application within risk governance (desirable)

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Strong analytical skills with confidence handling and interpreting data sets
• High attention to detail and discipline in documentation and reporting
• Ability to translate complex data into clear insights
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• Collaborative, proactive and self-motivated with experience working across 1LoD and 2LoD
• Ability to identify process improvements and contribute to stronger control environments
• Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
• Experience with GRC systems or data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau (advantageous)
