We are seeking an enthusiastic salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking training practice for 4-8 sessions per week (full-time or part-time considered). Salary is competitive and dependent on experience. We offer 6 weeks annual leave (pro rata) and supported CPD time. This is a fixed term contract until March 31st 2027, with a possibility of extending depending on funding and mutual agreement.
The post-holder will work as an autonomous practitioner, delivering high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to the practice population.
This role offers a structured and manageable workload, with a strong focus on face-to-face consultations. Patients are triaged by a GP Partner prior to allocation, allowing the post-holder to focus on safe, effective clinical decision-making. Clinics typically consist of approximately 15 patients per session.
There are no home visits or on-call requirements. The post-holder will be responsible for their own clinical administration, including referrals, results, and follow-ups.
The role may include participation in Enhanced Access sessions (e.g. Saturday mornings, remunerated separately) and occasional cross-site working.
The post-holder will contribute to the ongoing development of the practice, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and adhering to GMC Good Medical Practice standards.
The following are the core responsibilities of the salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
Effective management of long-term conditions
Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
Prepare and complete the revalidation process
Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times
