Flexibility available.
Rate of pay: £25–42k OTE in the first year.
This role is designed as an entry-to-mid level position, with a competitive basic salary and uncapped commission. Progression and salary growth are linked to performance, skill development and time in role, rather than previous sales experience.
About Us
Secarma is a cybersecurity consultancy on a mission to make the world a safer place. We help businesses protect themselves from cyber threats through penetration testing, security advisory and certification services.
Our culture is collaborative, supportive and driven by curiosity. We invest heavily in developing our people because we believe that great teams deliver the best outcomes for our clients.
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting our next wave of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to join a growing sales team. This role is ideal for someone looking to build strong commercial foundations and develop long-term within an SDR function, supported by our sales training academy.
This role is focused on lead generation and booking high-quality meetings. It is designed to reward consistency, curiosity and skill development rather than quick wins or prior sales titles.
Your role will not involve direct selling initially. Instead, it is designed to build strong commercial foundations. Progression is structured and earned over time, with opportunities to move into senior SDR or sales roles once core skills are fully developed.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and research target companies and contacts aligned to our ideal customer profile
• Proactively engage prospective customers to generate and qualify new business opportunities
• Book meetings for the Business Development team with decision-makers and influencers
• Represent Secarma at physical and virtual events throughout the year
• Use a range of outreach channels including LinkedIn, email, phone and face-to-face activity
• Maintain accurate CRM records of activity and outcomes
• Work towards agreed KPIs focused on activity, lead quality and meeting conversion
• Commit to developing core SDR skills including prospecting, qualification, objection handling and follow-up
What We’re Looking For
An interest in Cyber Security (preferred, but not essential). No previous sales experience required – we value attitude, coachability and curiosity over a CV full of titles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A proactive and organised approach
• Resilience, determination and a strong work ethic
• Confidence engaging new people and learning from feedback
Progression & Development
Our last wave of SDRs joined the business in September and are progressing through clearly defined development milestones, with opportunities to move into senior roles once they’ve built strong, repeatable performance in the SDR role.
