Sales Manager - High Voltage GIS Switchgear



We are seeking an experienced GIS Switchgear Sales Manager to drive business growth across the UK and Ireland for a leading provider of high-voltage switchgear and grid infrastructure solutions

.This is a commercially focused role responsible for developing new business opportunities and managing key customer relationships across the transmission, distribution, renewable energy, energy storage, and data centre sectors.


The successful candidate will play a key role in expanding market share, securing major project opportunities, and supporting the transition towards both SF6 and next-generation environmentally friendly switchgear technologies.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across:

Utilities

EPC Contractors

BESS Developers

Data Centre Developers

Consultants

Industrial End Users

  • Lead pre-qualification and vendor registration activities to ensure inclusion in future tender opportunities
  • Review commercial and technical tender documentation and develop bid strategies
  • Support preparation of commercial and technical proposals in collaboration with internal engineering and tendering teams
  • Monitor market activity, competitor movements, industry trends, and project pipelines to support business planning
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasting updates
  • Take ownership of achieving and exceeding sales targets
  • Support project handover activities and collaborate with project delivery teams where required
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical business practices
  • Maintain detailed technical knowledge of:
  • SF6 and SF6-free GIS technologies
  • Relevant legislation and environmental requirements
  • Industry developments
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences

    Requirements


    • Proven experience in sales of high-voltage electrical equipment, ideally GIS switchgear solutions
    • Strong understanding of the UK transmission and distribution market
    • Knowledge of GIS technology, including both SF6 and SF6-free solutions
    • Experience managing complex sales cycles and major infrastructure projects
    • Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
    • Ability to build relationships with senior decision-makers across utilities, contractors, developers, and end users
    • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a dynamic and growing business
    • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
