Role – We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Engineer to lead the evolution of a Field Mobile Platform within a large-scale transformation programme. This is a senior, hands-on architecture and engineering leadership role focused on scaling mobile platforms, improving reliability, and enabling seamless field operations through modern engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Platform Leadership
- Define and own end-to-end mobile platform architecture, including:
  - Mobile applications
  - APIs and backend services
  - Integration layers
- Establish engineering standards, patterns, and guardrails across teams.
- Lead platform simplification, reducing duplication and technical debt.
Engineering Excellence
- Champion best practices in:
  - Clean architecture

CI/CD automation

Testing strategies

Observability and telemetry

Performance optimisation

Secure-by-design principles

Ensure high reliability, resilience, and offline capability for field environments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product, Architecture, and Operations teams to:
- Align data models and integration patterns
- Ensure consistent UX and platform standards
Support delivery of mobile capabilities that improve:
- Safety and compliance
- Customer experience
- Field productivity

Innovation & AI Enablement

Drive adoption of AI-enabled engineering practices, including:
- Automation and diagnostics
- Telemetry-driven insights
- AI-assisted workflows
Ensure responsible AI implementation aligned with governance and compliance standards.

Key Skills:

Extensive experience as a Senior / Principal Engineer in enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in:
- Mobile application architecture
- Backend APIs and microservices
- Integration patterns across complex systems
Proven ability to define and influence engineering standards across multiple teams.
Strong experience with:
- CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Automated testing and observability
- Performance tuning and platform optimisation
Experience designing resilient, offline-capable mobile solutions
Ability to solve complex, cross-domain technical challenges.
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
