Job Title: SC Cleared Azure Platform Engineer

Start Date: Immediate

Contract Type: Inside IR35

Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance

We are looking for an experienced Azure Platform Engineer to support the integration of a mobile application with a Kubernetes-based backend hosted in Microsoft Azure.

This is a hands-on contract position requiring deep expertise in Azure cloud architecture, AKS operations, secure API exposure and cloud-native integration patterns. The role will focus on building secure, scalable and production-ready infrastructure that enables seamless connectivity between mobile front-end applications and backend services.

Key Responsibilities

Design, deploy and operate production-grade Azure Kubernetes Service clusters
Implement secure API exposure using Azure API Management
Integrate backend services with mobile applications using Azure-native integration services
Configure and manage Azure Functions, Event Grid and Service Bus components
Implement secure identity using Azure AD, OAuth2, OpenID Connect and Managed Identities

Configure and maintain Azure networking components including VNets, Private Endpoints, Application Gateway and WAF

Implement containerisation strategies using Docker

Deploy and manage applications using Helm, Kustomize or similar templating tools

Implement and manage service mesh technologies such as Istio, Linkerd or Azure-native Open Service Mesh

Build and maintain observability stacks using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry and Azure Monitor

Ensure platform security, scalability, resilience and compliance with enterprise standards

Required Skills and Experience

Proven experience operating AKS in production environments
Strong Azure platform expertise including networking, identity and security
Experience integrating APIs for mobile applications
Deep Kubernetes and containerisation knowledge
Experience with infrastructure automation and deployment tooling
Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture patterns
Active SC clearance

Desirable

Experience working within secure or law enforcement environments
Experience supporting high-availability or mission-critical systems
Exposure to service mesh architecture and advanced observability frameworks
