Job Title: SC Cleared Frontend Developer (React/Typescript)
Contract Length: 12-month contract (with scope to extend)
Location: Remote, UK Based
Start Date: Immediate
Clearance Required: Must hold active SC Clearance
We are seeking an experienced Frontend Developer to join a modern engineering team developing scalable applications within a microservice-based architecture.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of high-quality software using React and Typescript, working closely with engineers across backend, DevOps and product teams. The team follows modern engineering practices including test-driven development, containerisation and automated CI/CD pipelines.
The role requires a collaborative engineer who is comfortable working in agile teams and contributing to both application delivery and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain modern applications using React and Typescript
- Contribute to a microservice-based architecture supporting scalable systems
- Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code following test-driven development principles
- Develop and maintain containerised applications using Docker
- Work with relational databases such as Postgres and contribute to database design and optimisation
- Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, QA and DevOps engineers
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong commercial experience with React development
- Solid experience working with Typescript
- Experience working with relational databases such as Postgres or other SQL databases
Desirable Skills
- Experience with API specifications such as Swagger or OpenAPI
- Familiarity with Gradle build tooling
- Experience with Liquibase or database migration tooling
- Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures
- Exposure to backend development using Java and Spring Boot
