SIA licenced Door Supervisor - LS185

Pay: £13.85 Per Hour

Hours: Rotating shift pattern, 4 on 4 off days and nights, 12 hours shifts.

G4S are currently looking to recruit a number of Full Time, Permanent SIA Door Supervisor Security Officers, to join our team currently working at one of our prestigious customer sites in East London, which is a key location for G4S Events.

This position is based on internal and external areas and as such you are expected to be able to work in all different weather conditions.

Responsible to: Supervisors & Security Team Manager

External relationships: LS185 Management, Suppliers, Contractors, Venues and members of the public.

Internal relationships: Supervisors, Ground security staff, Security Team Manager & Senior Contracts Manager.

Job Overview

The post-holder will be part of a team who will be responsible for:

  • The professional reception of guests, security of assets within the surroundings of LS185, and ensuring the highest standard of service at all times.
  • providing clear communication and operational professionalism in the fields of incident management and response within a large public venue.
  • The ‘live’ Operation of the Security team that manages the essential functions of;
  • Liaison and assistance of visitors to the LS185 (Customer Service).
  • Incident control and Response across all common, public and venue areas of the LS185
  • Health, safety & welfare of all on the LS185 site.
  • Incidents that affect LS185 Operations.
  • LS185 buildings and public space security and safety.
  • Reporting and monitoring incidents within the LS185 footprint.
  • Maintaining contact with the Security Control Room.
  • Crowd Management and providing solutions..
  • Access control duties
  • To carry out patrol duties on vehicular, foot or other means available over wide areas.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out correctly.
  • Ensure all incidents are logged and managed effectively through to completion.

  • Main duties;

    • Ensure all life safety equipment and any other equipment used by the Security Team is in working order and ready to be used when required.
    • Complete weekly and monthly audits.
    • Ensure a smart and professional image is displayed at all times.
    • Assisting the general public and those that visit the LS185 with any queries, problems or issues.
  • Ensure enforcement with venue rules.
  • Engaging and managing contractor access to the LS185.
  • Ensure standards of dress, safety and presentation are maintained within the LS185 at all times
  • Show and initiate initiative where possible.
  • To adapt to any incident within the LS185 in a professional manner and manage it accordingly
  • Provide a visual deterrent to criminality, gang activity and anti-social behaviour.
  • Incident response.
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow all site related processes and procedures as laid down in Assignment Instructions, Post Instructions and any other form of communication that relates to an instruction.
  • Any other reasonable request from the Management team.

  • Skills & Knowledge

    • Relevant industry experience while not essential is preferred, although it is expected that the candidate will be able to demonstrate an understanding of the unique features of the industry including licensing, events, public space and corporate environments.
    • Ability to contribute toward a team’s operation or can work on their own initiative.
    • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Must be fluent in the use of English language, written verbal and reading.
  • Capable of resolving issues.
  • A decisive and assertive decision maker who can interpret situations to proceed with a prioritised action plan that achieves the results required.
  • Excellent report-writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • A positive attitude to dealing with people and taking on challenges.
  • An understanding of large mass participation events would be an advantage.
  • Valid SIA DS Licence - Mandatory
  • Valid SIA CCTV Licence is desirable.
