Senior Accountant – UK

Location: UK (Remote / Hybrid)

Travel: Up to 5% (occasional domestic/international finance meetings)

Salary: up to £65k

An established global healthcare organisation is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial integrity, compliance, and reporting activities for the UK business.

While transactional accounting is handled by a shared service centre, this role is responsible for financial oversight, analysis, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and stakeholder reporting. You will work cross-functionally with UK leadership, global finance teams, and external auditors to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is a high-impact finance role within a matrix organisation, requiring strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to influence across functions.

Responsibilities:

Overseeing financial accounting processes managed by the shared service centre
Analysing financial data, trends and variances, providing actionable insights to management

Preparing internal and governmental statistical reports in line with statutory deadlines

Managing non-PO invoices, pensions, insurance entries and general ledger activity

Supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of statutory annual reports

Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP (FRS102), US GAAP and internal finance policies

Performing balance sheet reviews and month-end close activities

Conducting DCF calculations and preparing impairment schedules

Supporting payroll accounting reconciliations and liaising with shared services

Assisting with tax compliance and supporting tax audits

Identifying financial risks and driving process improvement initiatives

About You:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
5+ years’ experience in accounting or finance roles
Strong experience with statutory audits and conversion from US GAAP to UK GAAP (FRS102)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle)
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Fluent in English
Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Comfortable working in cross-functional and international environments
