Description

Senior Accountant – UK

Location: UK (Remote / Hybrid)

Travel: Up to 5% (occasional domestic/international finance meetings)

Salary: up to £65k


An established global healthcare organisation is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee financial integrity, compliance, and reporting activities for the UK business.

While transactional accounting is handled by a shared service centre, this role is responsible for financial oversight, analysis, statutory compliance, audit coordination, and stakeholder reporting. You will work cross-functionally with UK leadership, global finance teams, and external auditors to ensure accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement.

This is a high-impact finance role within a matrix organisation, requiring strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to influence across functions.


Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing financial accounting processes managed by the shared service centre
  • Analysing financial data, trends and variances, providing actionable insights to management
  • Preparing internal and governmental statistical reports in line with statutory deadlines
  • Managing non-PO invoices, pensions, insurance entries and general ledger activity
  • Supporting internal and external audits, including preparation of statutory annual reports
  • Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP (FRS102), US GAAP and internal finance policies
  • Performing balance sheet reviews and month-end close activities
  • Conducting DCF calculations and preparing impairment schedules
  • Supporting payroll accounting reconciliations and liaising with shared services
  • Assisting with tax compliance and supporting tax audits
  • Identifying financial risks and driving process improvement initiatives

  • About You:


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
    • 5+ years’ experience in accounting or finance roles
    • Strong experience with statutory audits and conversion from US GAAP to UK GAAP (FRS102)
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or Oracle)
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
    • Fluent in English
    • Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
