Overview
Our client, an international law firm with a leading Energy, Natural Resources and Commodities disputes practice, is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel to join its London team. The practice advises across the full spectrum of energy and natural resources matters, representing major energy companies, commodity traders, private equity investors and financial institutions on complex disputes, international arbitration and regulatory matters across global markets.
The Role
- Advising clients across the energy and commodities value chain, including oil and gas, power, renewables, mining, LNG and pipeline infrastructure.
- Acting on high-value international arbitrations and complex cross-border disputes under major institutional rules including LCIA, ICC, SCMA and UNCITRAL.
- Handling disputes arising from long-term supply agreements, commodity trading arrangements, joint ventures, pricing and offtake agreements, and infrastructure projects.

Candidate Profile
- England & Wales qualified.
- Typically 6+ years’ PQE with strong experience in international arbitration and energy, natural resources or commodities disputes.
- Experience acting on complex cross-border matters involving multiple jurisdictions and stakeholders.
The team is particularly interested in candidates with experience in international sale of goods disputes, particularly within commodities markets. Exposure to non-contentious (including delivery, quality, pricing and contractual performance issues) in commodities trading or supply arrangements will be highly valued.
- The ideal candidate will be comfortable “speaking the language of commodities” when advising trading houses, energy companies and market participants.
