We’re now looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to take ownership of some of our largest and most high‑profile corporate accounts, playing a critical role in driving growth, retention and long-term partnerships across our client portfolio. This is a high-profile role where you will work closely with senior internal and external stakeholders, influencing strategy, shaping commercial outcomes and delivering best-in-class service.
What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of your accounts, balancing commercial performance with service excellence. You’ll lead complex contract negotiations, oversee service delivery, identify growth opportunities and act as a trusted partner to your clients.
Please note the successful candidate will be travelling to the Barnsley hub on a regular basis so this must be commutable.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the management, retention and growth of Evri’s largest and most high-profile client portfolios
- Manage the full end-to-end customer lifecycle, including contract management, rate negotiations and volume growth
- Identify and capitalise on opportunities to enhance margins and service performance
- Lead up-sell and cross-sell activity across Evri’s products and services
- Maintain and manage client cash flow and commercial performance
- Partner with Operational teams to design and deliver service improvement and recovery plans
- Analyse data and customer insight to drive change and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and client-side directors
- Share technical knowledge and coach junior colleagues, helping to develop wider team capability
What We’re Looking For:
- Significant experience (circa 5+ years) in senior key account management, business development or account director roles
- Strong commercial awareness, ideally within parcels, logistics or postal sectors
- Proven experience managing high-value contracts and complex negotiations
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior and director level
- Strong negotiation, financial and analytical capability, with confidence working with large data sets
- Ability to matrix-manage and lead extended virtual account teams
- Confident communicator, able to present complex information clearly in reports and presentations
- Full UK driving licence (role involves regular travel and flexible working hours)
- Degree-level education desirable but not essential
- Sales or key account management qualification advantageous
