Full Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors, demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to implement care plans effectively. This role involves supervising junior staff and fostering a supportive environment for both residents and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Supervise and support junior staff, providing guidance and leadership to enhance team performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their condition.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in Residential and Nursing care.
  • Administration of medication to residents.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a senior care role is essential, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality care.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team effectively.
  • Familiarity with IT systems used for record keeping and communication within the care home setting is advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for working with Residents and enhancing their quality of life through compassionate care.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for this role.
