Senior Clinical Fellow Cardiology

This post is an exciting opportunity for those intending to pursue a career in Cardiology or wishing to gain further experience in this sub-specialty.

This post is whole time for 12 months, based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), London, which is part of Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust.

The clinical duties of the post will be tailored to the training needs of the successful candidate and will depend on prior training, skill sets and interests. This position offers excellent exposure to cardiology in a busy district general hospital setting. There are opportunities to train in coronary intervention, arrhythmia and devices, echocardiography, cardiac CT, heart failure and inherited cardiac conditions.

The Senior Clinical Fellow will be a member of a multi-disciplinary team looking after the Cardiology ward including the coronary care unit and participate in outpatient clinics. It is expected that a successful candidate will be involved in audit and quality improvement projects.

The Cardiology Department is actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. The Trust is part of the Guys, Kings and St Thomas’ and University of Nicosia medical student training programmes.

The Weekly Timetable Will Include The Following Activities

• Ward Work, including cardiac support for the on-call and AMU teams
• Outpatient Clinics
• Supervision and teaching of Trainees
• Teaching Sessions
• Clinical Governance, including Audit and Risk Management
• Medical management including multidisciplinary meetings.
