Applications are invited for a Clinical Fellow post within the Department of Rheumatology at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH).
This new full-time post has been created in response to increasing service demand and expanding specialist rheumatology services. The successful candidate will join a dynamic, research-active, and nationally recognised rheumatology department delivering a broad range of specialist and general rheumatology services across Norfolk and the wider East Anglia region.

The Post Is Suitable For
- doctors currently undertaking higher specialist rheumatology training,
- candidates with at least two years’ middle-grade rheumatology experience,
- or post-CCT rheumatologists seeking additional specialist or academic experience.

The post is suitable for a candidate with at least 2 years rheumatology experience at middle grade level and is currently in a rheumatology training programme or as a post-CCT fellowship. Full GMC Registration with licence to practise is essential.
The Post Holder Will
- attend general and specialist rheumatology clinics,
- contribute to acute rheumatology referral management,
- support the Rheumatology Day Unit,
- participate in multidisciplinary meetings,
- contribute to audit and governance activity,
- and participate in teaching programmes.
The post includes contribution to the middle-grade rheumatology on-call rota (currently 1:4).
This Includes
- facilitating and clerking referrals to the ultrasound-led Giant Cell Arteritis pathway,
- daytime inpatient rheumatology consultation,
- and urgent rheumatology advice.
There Is
- no out-of-hours commitment,
- no overnight on-call,
- and no weekend working requirement.
The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of acute clinical services through the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (1,000 beds) and Cromer and District Hospital, including more specialist services such as oncology and radiotherapy, neonatology, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, ophthalmology, rheumatology, paediatric medicine and surgery.
Our staff of over 7,000 treat more than one million patients; people from Norfolk, neighbouring counties and further afield. Our patients are referred to us by around 100 local GP practices but also from other acute hospitals and primary care trusts around the country.
