University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. Interviews
If you are shortlisted for an interview for this role, you must bring evidence of the following qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or Level 2 Functional Skills for Maths and English.
If you hold overseas GCSE equivalent qualifications, you will need to bring an ECCTIS comparability statement for you GCSE equivalent qualifications along with your original certificate
- A Full Care Certificate OR NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (we can only accept NVQ’s from a regulated awarding body).
If you do not bring the above qualifications to your interview, then the interview will not proceed.
The successful applicants will be based at Royal Stoke University Hospital . As provision of care is in an inpatient setting of 32 bedded patients, you will be required to work 12hour shifts days/nights over a 7 day working week. This will be three 12 hour shifts per week.
As well as completing the role as a Band 2 clinical support worker on ward 124 your role will include the below duties found in the main duties section. This will also include assisting with minor none invasive procedures i.e. line insertions/removals, kidney biopsy this is carried out in the procedure room based on ward 124.
Required
As a Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker you may be required to carry out and perform a range of clinical based skills in conjunction with the above key areas/tasks as well as completing tasks within the band 2 . This will be supported by completion of a robust UHNM competency package. Skills include:
- Venepuncture
- Weighing patients daily
- Taking clinical observations
- Blood Glucose Monitoring
- Pregnancy Testing
- Urine Analysis
- Taking Fecal Samples
- Carry out 12 lead ECG
- Observing patients for signs of agitation or distress
- Wound Observation
- Simple Wound Dressing
- Removal of Peripheral Cannula
- Take Swabs
- Support and Assist New Staff- Buddy System/Care Certificate Supervisor
- Completing documentation
- Assisting with minor surgical none invasive procedures i.e. line insertions/removals, kidney biopsy this is carried out in the procedure room based on ward 124.
