We are looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Support workers to join our dynamic and friendly team on ward 222 our Non-Invasive ventilation and Critical Care Ward and provide safe and supportive care to patients, relatives and their loved ones. In this post you would be responsible for providing fundamental elements of patient care as directed by the qualified nursing/midwifery team to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of dignified and respectful care, in accordance with their care plans. We are looking for people who are compassionate and feel passionately about providing a level of care they would wish for their family and friends.
The successful applicants will be based at Royal Stoke . As provision of care is a 24/7 career, you will be required to work shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
To apply for the post the applicant needs to be competent and proficient in the following skills:
Taking Clinical Observations and Recording on Vitals/Paper
- Venepuncture
- Taking clinical observations
- Use of vital pac
- Glucose Monitoring
- Pregnancy Testing
- Urine Analysis (Strip)
- Taking Fecal Samples
- Carry out 12 lead ECG
- Observing patients for signs of agitation or distress (Clinical holding/Restraint)
- Wound Observation
- Simple Wound Dressing
- Removal of Peripheral Cannula
- Take Swabs (e.g. MRSA)
- Support and Assist New Staff- Buddy System/Care Certificate Supervisor
Qualifications
This role requires the following qualifications and documents to be provided as part of the recruitment and selection process for this role, if you are offered a role and unable to provide these documents, we are afraid the offer will be withdrawn:
- GCSE’s or equivalent Certificate for Maths and English, equivalent to current Level 4/ C or level 2 functional skills Maths/English.
- If you have completed your qualifications overseas you must apply or provide a ECCTIS compatibility statement
- Completed Care Certificate
Although it may seem frustrating if you have completed a degree in the UK or other professional qualifications our policy states we must have GCSE’s or equivalent as part of the requirements for this role.
