Senior C# Engineer | Front Office Engineering | Leading Multi-Manager Hedge Fund | Up to £400k TC
My client is a leading global multi-manager hedge fund seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a front-office engineering team responsible for building and evolving the core technology platforms used by portfolio managers, traders, and investment teams across the firm.
The role sits at the heart of the investment process. Engineers partner directly with PMs, traders, risk teams, and operations to design and deliver the systems that drive portfolio construction, execution, position management, intraday P&L, exposure monitoring, FX hedging, and trade lifecycle management. The work spans both greenfield development and strategic platform evolution, with a strong focus on scalability, usability, and performance.
This is a highly visible position with significant ownership. Rather than operating as a central technology function removed from the business, the team works as a direct extension of the investment platform, helping shape workflows, identify opportunities for automation, and deliver tools that have a measurable impact on investment outcomes.
The engineering environment combines the scale and complexity of a leading hedge fund with the pace and accountability of a front-office team. Successful engineers are comfortable engaging directly with senior investment professionals, translating business requirements into robust technical solutions, and taking ownership of critical systems from design through production.
Technically, the role is centred around modern C# and .NET, with opportunities to work across distributed systems, real-time data processing, workflow orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and front-office applications. The firm is particularly interested in engineers who have built business-critical platforms supporting trading, portfolio management, risk, or investment workflows.
Experience working in financial markets is highly advantageous, particularly around portfolio management, execution, risk, positions, exposures, and P&L. However, the key requirement is the ability to operate as a trusted technical partner to investment teams and deliver high-quality systems in demanding environments.
This is an opportunity to join one of the industry's leading investment platforms and build technology that sits directly at the centre of the investment process.
