About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Centre Engineer to manage and support data centre infrastructure and operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining servers, networking equipment, and storage systems while ensuring high availability and performance of critical IT infrastructure.

You will work closely with infrastructure, network, and security teams to support data centre environments and implement system improvements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain data centre infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking equipment
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of critical services
  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and virtualization platforms
  • Support backup, disaster recovery, and system resilience strategies
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and hardware issues
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and infrastructure changes
  • Collaborate with IT teams to support infrastructure and cloud integrations


Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in data centre operations, infrastructure support, or system engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching)
  • Experience supporting server hardware, storage systems, and backup solutions
  • Familiarity with monitoring and infrastructure management tools
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or Bash scripting
  • Understanding of data centre security and compliance practices
  • Experience working in enterprise or managed service environments


Certifications (Preferred)

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, or CompTIA Server+


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
