About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable data systems and pipelines. In this role, you will work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and engineering teams to ensure efficient data processing, high-quality datasets, and reliable data infrastructure.
You will play a key role in transforming raw data into structured formats that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT) for data ingestion and transformation
- Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries for large datasets
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and governance across systems
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues
- Implement best practices for data architecture and data modeling
- Document data workflows, pipelines, and system architecture
Required Skills
- SQL & Database Management: Strong expertise in writing complex queries, performance tuning, and working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server
- Python for Data Engineering: Experience using Python (Pandas, PySpark, NumPy) for data processing, transformation, and automation
- ETL/ELT & Data Pipelines: Hands-on experience building pipelines using tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or similar
- Data Warehousing: Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, or Google BigQuery
- Big Data Technologies:
Preferred Skills
- Experience with streaming tools such as Kafka
- Familiarity with Docker and containerization
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
- Understanding of data governance and security practices
Certification (At Least One Preferred)
- AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate
or
- Google Professional Data Engineer
or
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, IT, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or similar roles
