🚀 The opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Ecologist to provide expert ecological leadership across major rail infrastructure, ensuring compliance with environmental legislation while influencing best practice in a complex operational environment. Working closely with route teams, project managers, regulators, and supply chain partners, you’ll guide projects from early design through construction and operation. This senior, visible role combines strategic influence with hands-on delivery, driving continuous improvement, robust governance, and a strong culture of environmental stewardship - balancing ecological priorities with the realities of one of the UK’s most vital national networks.
The role requires flexibility and a willingness to travel across the relevant geographical area to engage with teams, visit sites, and fulfil the responsibilities of the position.
