About The Team And The Role
At ORL, we want to exceed our customers expectations and make the shopping experience as simple, smart and inspiring as possible.
As a Senior Ecommerce Executive, you will have responsibility for the Product Discovery area of the Merchandising team to drive sales and customer experience and grow overall conversion through methods such as search and navigation. In this role you will help customers find their weekly essentials as well as discover their favourite new products from Ocado's vast and exciting range. You will drive efficiencies within the team and identify and deliver continuous improvement within merchandising.
What You’ll Do
- Utilise all available merchandising levers to drive conversion through customer friendly and commercially-savvy decisions, driving customer journey optimisation
- Carry out daily E2E site walks across all key landing pages, including the Homepage, PDP, CLP, PLP, & offer pages to ensure primary tagging represents what good looks like
- Identify product discovery opportunities to improve website / app performance and conversion prioritising and enabling execution into the Merchandising team to improve sales performance.
- Creating, implementing, and maintaining taxonomies (hierarchical classifications of information) to structure content and improve search
- Continual best practice monitoring and sharing of recommendations, within the Merchandising and overall Ecommerce team.
- Work with all relevant teams to drive sales and achieve commercial targets and increase awareness of product discovery.
- Execute the Merchandising strategy and plans as well as coordinate the testing plan for the team to achieve success.
- Conduct external research and analysis to shape and lean into the product discovery roadmap, working across Product & Proposition roles as well as Group to continually optimise features and algos.
- Ensure key seasonal searches are optimised during each seasonal phase and is aligned with our content strategy
- Make insightful trade-offs and prioritisation decisions into how to spend your time to optimise merchandising and product discovery.
- Use insight and analysis to learn, improve and iterate to satisfy all reporting needs as well as influence optimisation KPI’s and lead change through matrix management within Merchandising.
- Drive innovation and provide inspiration for our customers through continually thinking through new ways to shop that drive conversion and sales.
- Manage a small team that carries out the administrative efforts to run our site
Who You Are
- You will have experience and a strong understanding of Ecommerce in a Retail context.
- Strong insight and data led skills – The role will require strong analytical skills.
- You’ll have excellent attention to detail skills, with an eye for detail to be able to provide accurate and high quality work.
- Competent and confident working on internal systems, spreadsheets and powerpoint presentations.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Preferably, you will have experience in managing a small team, however, this is not necessary as training can be provided.
