Senior Embedded Build & Test Engineer

BrightSign, the global market leader in digital signage media players, seeks an experienced software test engineer to join their embedded development team. In this role you will have primary ownership of the CI/CD pipeline and associated test systems for BrightSign's embedded products, predominantly but not exclusively Linux-based media players.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test infrastructure, both hardware and software
• Design, architect and develop improvements to build infrastructure for performance, maintainability and cost optimisations
• Monitor and report on quality metrics derived from local testing and field reports
• Assist software development teams in resolving issues with build, test or deployment
• Work with product management and other internal stakeholders to prioritise activities appropriately
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• Degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years industry experience in a professional software environment
• Familiarity with Yocto/OpenEmbedded
• Experience with Python, JavaScript and shell scripting

Experience of Linux systems (as a user, not necessarily a developer or administrator)

Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

Attention to detail

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Desirable

• Previous experience of digital multimedia or networked systems
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS and similar cloud technologies
• Familiarity with Gerrit, GitHub and/or other code review systems
