As a Senior Operational Technology Engineer, you will design, develop and maintain Telemetry, Security and OT Systems for water and wastewater systems, both at process sites and in the core network. Reporting to the OT Regional Systems Operations Manager, you will collaborate with our Systems Integration Partners, Operational and Project delivery teams across the business building and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients and external partners. You will be expected to work as the OT support lead working with other disciplines to maintain and develop our Telemetry and OT systems.
As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Operational Technology, you will address unique engineering challenges and provide design and technical advice across United Utilities (UU). Your role includes supporting operations and projects teams, offering operational engineering support, and conducting studies and investigations.
Skills & Experience
- To maintain and develop Operational Technology Engineering expertise, embracing innovative new technologies and designs while providing Engineering design and issue resolution expertise.
- To provide input to the development of the UU Operational Technology Engineering standards, systems and procedures and ensure that activities undertaken and engineering outputs provided are in accordance with Health, Safety and Cyber Security Legislation and accepted practice.
- To work with suppliers and partners to develop technology roadmaps and provide strategic guidance for managing obsolescence and the deployment of new technologies.
- To provide guidance on Operational Technology, cyber security, instrumentation and control topics within United Utilities.
- To assist in second line, escalated support as required to maintain operations; and recommend optimisation opportunities d suitable long-term solutions to address any operational issues.
- To provide supervision and guidance of OT engineers and Technicians and support the OT Operations Managers.
- Extensive industry experience designing, implementing and maintaining Telemetry, Security and OT Systems.
