Senior Fellow in Burns and Laser - August 2026

Applications are invited for a fixed term Burns and Laser Fellow to join a multi-disciplinary team with high standards of clinical care. This post is from August 2026 and is for six months with the possibility of extending to one year. Applications will also be considered for candidates wishing to apply for August 2027 fellowship (please outline in your application which you intend to be considered for). The post will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

Job description

This is a full time position working 40 hours a week. The post holder will become an integral part of the burns MDT Team who work closely with other specialties. This post will include training in total management of acute burns, burns reconstruction and laser therapy mainly for burns scars (fractionated CO2 laser and pulse dye laser) for adults and children.

Qualifications

Essential

• *Full registration with the General Medical Council GMC, with licence to practice.
• *FRCS(Plast) or equivalent
• *The Emergency Management of Severe Burns (EMSB) certificate

Experience

Essential

• *Experience at least 6 months at the registrar level or higher in adults and paediatrics burns centres or burns unit within the NHS or equivalent.
• *Ability to prioritise workload and use initiative.
• *Ability to know own limitations and when to seek advice.
