Description

Role: Senior Graphic Designer

Location: U.K. based, hybrid working; London Head Office

Job Type: Full time (hybrid working); Fixed Term Contract for 6–9 months

As the most active UK‑based, early‑stage science and technology investor, IP Group develops and supports some of the world’s most exciting businesses in healthtech, deeptech and cleantech.

Creating a diverse and inclusive working environment is central to IP Group’s culture. We are committed to pioneering I&D best practice because we strongly believe that diversity in its broadest sense leads to optimal decision making, and that a supportive, inclusive environment brings out the best in our employees, founders and industry partners.

THE ROLE

Reporting into the Head of Communications, we are looking to hire a Senior Graphic Designer as a fixed‑term maternity cover contract for 6–9 months, with the possibility for extension, ideally beginning April 2026.

The Senior Graphic Designer will play a critical role in visually communicating IP Group’s mission, portfolio, and performance. Above all, this person must have an exceptional ability to take complex ideas (often technical, scientific, or financial) and translate them into clear, compelling, highly polished visual materials, particularly PowerPoint presentations for a wide range of stakeholders, including shareholders and potential investors.

This role requires deep curiosity about the sectors in which we invest, strong visual storytelling skills, and confidence working with data‑rich, detail‑heavy content. This is an interesting, unique and varied role for a strong Graphic Designer, who may also have experience some internal or external communications or copy writing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

PowerPoint & Presentation Design – Create high‑impact presentations that translate complex scientific, technological, and financial concepts into simple, visually coherent narratives.

Data Visualisation – Design intuitive, accurate and engaging charts, graphs, and infographics that make complex data provided by other departments easy to understand.

Document Design – Produce visually consistent and professional materials including reports, templates, summary sheets, business cards, and branded collateral.

Event Materials – Develop creative assets such as invites, backdrops, menus, bespoke graphics and marketing materials to support internal and external events.

Content Design

 – Create high‑quality visual assets (static and animated) to support the Group’s digital channels.

Brand Stewardship – Maintain and champion visual identity standards across all formats and touchpoints.

Depending on experience and interest, the role can also include:

Social Media – Support LinkedIn and X channels with visual content.

Website (CMS) – Assist in keeping the Group’s website up to date with relevant imagery and visual content.

Intranet – Upload visual content, videos and news.

Newsletter (Mailchimp) – Contribute visuals to internal and portfolio newsletters.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Expert PowerPoint skills, including structuring complex narratives for executive‑level audiences.
  • Advanced graphic design capability across Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Demonstrable experience translating complex data, financial information or technical/scientific concepts into clear visual communication.
  • Previous experience in financial services, banking, investment, or any environment requiring accurate translation of complex information.
  • Strong data visualisation skills and an ability to present information with clarity and accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality output.

  • Additional desirable or useful skills:

    • Experience using website CMS platforms.
    • Experience supporting communications across multiple channels.
    • Interest or experience in professional writing or editing.
    • Prior experience in a role where copywriting was a key responsibility.
    • Experience working for a plc or familiarity with corporate reporting cycles.
    • Ability to collaborate creatively within a team environment.

Expected salary of between £50,000 and £65,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. A generous pension and benefits package is included. We would also be open to discussing part-time hours for this role.

At IP Group, we are passionate about creating a diverse, inclusive, and flexible workforce. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities and we welcome applications from people of all ethnicities, cultures, ages, genders, sexual orientations or living with a disability.
