Priory Hospital Burston Houseis looking to recruit a Senior Healthcare Asssistant to join the team. This is a full time 37.5 hours role. We are looking for an experienced Healthcare worker, working patterns can be discussed during the interview process. Due to the rural location of Burston House, it is desirable that the candidate can drive.
Priory Burston House, located in the historic market town of Diss, near the border of Suffolk, provides level 2 rehabilitation for male patients with a learning disability.
Across rehabilitation and low secure care, our specialist learning disability service also cares for adults who may have complex mental health needs, including autism and personality disorders.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients
- Assists qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed to facilitate the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of all patients.
- Provides practical support and responsive care to patients who require assistance with intimate personal needs such as dressing, bathing and toileting activities ensuring that such activities comply with procedures and the relevant healthcare legislation.
- Observes and monitors the wellbeing of patients ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff/the primary nurse and documented as appropriate.
Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the multidisciplinary team.Prepared to take on additional responsibilities subject to service need and competence achievement such as Phlebotomy

What you'll bring to the role

The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum of NVQ Level 1 or GCSE standard in Mathematics and English and will have completed the Care Certificate. They will understand the importance of maintaining strict confidentiality and possess basic IT literacy skills. In addition, they will have a minimum of two years’ experience working as a Healthcare Assistant within a similar environment, alongside strong communication skills.
