As a Software Engineering Manager – Observability & Data Platforms at JPMorgan Chase in our Technology team, you will lead a group of engineers focused on developing observability, data pipelines, and fin-ops tools. You will partner with customers, product managers, and SRE teams to align objectives and deliver high-impact solutions. Your role will involve providing architectural guidance, establishing standards, and driving cost optimization and compliance. You will help foster a collaborative culture and ensure our software delivery meets business needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers developing observability, data pipelines, and fin-ops tools
  • Partner with customers, product managers, and SRE teams to align observability objectives
  • Provide architectural guidance and establish standards for observability implementations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business impact and customer satisfaction
  • Evaluate and implement modern data storage solutions to support analytics and dashboards
  • Introduce new observability tools and technologies, staying current with industry best practices
  • Apply machine learning algorithms to operational data to predict and address system failures
  • Implement and manage AIOps platforms for intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, and root cause analysis

  • Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent technical qualification
    • Hands-on experience in backend development using Python, Java, Node.js, or Golang
    • Experience in people management and leading technical teams
    • Experience as an infrastructure or platform software engineer in a technology company or startup
    • Expertise with cloud-native observability tools and associated agents, collectors
  • Experience designing and architecting large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architecture in AWS
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills to represent business and technical concepts to stakeholders
  • Self-managed and motivated with a strong sense of ownership and urgency

  • Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

    • Experience working in AI, ML, or data engineering
    • Experience developing AI agents or MCP
