About the role
We are looking for a Senior level Accessibility and Inclusive Design Consultant to lead the delivery of high-profile projects across the UK and internationally.
This role combines technical accessibility expertise with strategic design influence, supporting clients from early concept through to post-occupancy. You’ll play a key role in shaping environments that not only meet compliance requirements, but also reflect best practice and deliver genuinely inclusive, high-quality design outcomes.
What you’ll be doing
Core responsibilities
- Lead accessibility and inclusive design audits, appraisals and design reviews across a range of sectors
- Provide clear, practical recommendations that balance compliance, best practice and design quality
- Produce high-quality reports, access strategies, risk registers and planning documentation
- Advise clients and design teams across all RIBA stages
Project & client leadership
- Lead meetings with clients and key stakeholders, presenting reports and recommendations with clarity and confidence
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and project teams
- Support delivery across multiple projects
- Ensure projects are delivered to agreed timelines and meet client requirements
Contribution to practice
- Mentor and support junior team members
- Contribute to thought leadership, CPDs and industry engagement
- Support business development and help grow client relationships
What we’re looking for
Core experience
- Experience in accessibility and inclusive design within the built environment
- Strong understanding of UK accessibility legislation, standards and best practice
- Experience delivering access audits, design reviews and advisory support
- Ability to translate technical requirements into clear, practical design guidance
Nice to have
- NRAC consultant accreditation (or working towards)
- Background in the built environment including architecture, interior design, planning or a related field
