Alongside management of existing programmes, you’ll work on new, innovative projects. From shaping our water reduction and decarbonisation strategies to reducing waste across hundreds of hotels, you’ll drive a meaningful and measurable impact across one of the world’s largest hospitality companies.

You’ll represent Corporate Responsibility in front of a range of stakeholders, including opportunities to speak at regional internal conferences, run workshops and engage directly with owners through our Owners Association committees, helping to bring our sustainability story to life.

At IHG Hotels & Resorts, we believe that how we grow as a business goes hand-in-hand with our commitment to being a greater force for good. Strategic Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the development and implementation of the EMEAA environmental strategy, shaping priorities, and identifying new ways to deliver impact.
  • Oversee major environmental programmes, including decarbonisation, energy efficiency, waste, and water initiatives.
  • Drive the region’s contribution to global environmental targets, ensuring consistency, accountability, and strong performance.

Stakeholder Influence & Representation

  • Deliver presentations, workshops and senior stakeholder updates, including owners, General Managers, regional leadership and external forums.
  • Represent IHG on environmental sustainability working groups and bring insights back into the business.

Data, Insight & Analysis

  • Lead the development and delivery of the EMEAA environmental data strategy to ensure accurate, complete, and verifiable reporting.
  • Analyse environmental performance data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to regional leadership.
  • Respond to queries from regional teams, interpreting data and providing performance analysis as needed.

  • Team & Operational Leadership

    • Lead the EMEAA Environment team.
    • Build strong processes to support efficient ways of working and high-quality deliverables.
    • Work closely with Design & Engineering, Commercial Integration and Hotel Operations to design and activate initiatives.

    What You’ll Bring:

    • Senior-level experience in environment, sustainability, climate, carbon or energy management.
    • Strong analytical capability, including experience interpreting environmental datasets and presenting insights clearly.
    • Exceptional communication skills, able to influence senior stakeholders, and simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
    • Confident presenter who enjoys engaging large groups, hosting workshops and representing the organisation externally.
    • Proven project management skills, ensuring effective and efficient programme delivery.
    • Strong collaborative mindset and the ability to build relationships across functions.
  • Understanding environmental sustainability in the context of hospitality or the built environment an advantage.

  • This role provides the opportunity to make a big impact in our hotels. You’ll work with leaders, shape the future of responsible travel across a vast and diverse region, and lead innovative projects that genuinely drive change.
