Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural Engineering. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes. Manages, develops and motivates employees and first-level managers.

Senior Manager Payloads Engineering

The role

Reporting into the Director Engineering for Commercial modifications Europe, the Senior Engineering Manager Payloads coordinates all activities with regards to the development of departmental engineering data, leading to the approval of aircraft level STCs, minor changes and minor repairs under the Company's EASA Part 21 subpart J approved Design Organisation approval. The successful candidate will bring with them strong project leadership, technical mentoring and decision-making skills

The candidate will be leading and responsible for engineering teams, while abiding to the DOA processes and procedures in compliance with EASA Part 21 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with customers, sales, and marketing teams on product capabilities and features
• Develop and implement plans and forecasts to achieve objectives for the engineering team as part of engineering services
• Possess an understanding of engineering job practices, certification techniques, industry standards, principles, theories and concepts
• Effectively manage resources in collaboration with the global engineering team
• Ensure that the required documents are prepared within time frames to be provided to the Agency for approval

Provide guidelines for generation of engineering processes and documents including drawings, bulletins and supplements

Work in collaboration with the Head of Design Organization and Head of Office of Airworthiness to ensure design organization procedures continue to meet the quality and performance metrics of the business

Provide regular feedback to the Head of Engineering- EASA modifications on the performance of the teams

Responsible for day-to-day project management of departmental engineering activities including time management and budgeting

Technical management of departmental engineering teams

Develop and execute departmental plans, policies and procedures, providing input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals and objectives

Work Authorisation:

This requisition is for a locally hired position. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.
