We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a category C Prison located in outskirts of Lancaster, Lancashire.

HMP Lancaster Farm consists of 550 males.

Hours:

  • Monday - Friday
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • 8am - 4pm
  • 1 weekend every 4 - 6 weeks

Salary:

This position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £43,609.00 - £49,175.00 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Responsible for assessment and ongoing management of our patients’ mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous practitioner managing a caseload of patients, assessing their physical, social and psychological needs to develop a holistic health care plan.
  • Contribute to our nursing strategy and vision to; Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care, building therapeutic relationships and promoting professional boundaries.
  • Play an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s care following our policies and procedures and always considering safeguarding.
