Location: Blackburn / Hybrid
Salary: £45,000 - £53,000 DOE

The Role
We're looking for an experienced Lead Network Engineer to take ownership of network and connectivity services across a complex enterprise and Operational Technology (OT) environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead network transformation projects, provide senior technical support, mentor junior engineers, and deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing network solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support enterprise and OT network environments
Act as the senior 3rd line escalation point for complex network issues
Deliver network migration, transformation, and infrastructure modernisation projects
Design, implement, and support fibre optic and enterprise networking solutions
Drive service improvements, performance optimisation, and operational resilience
Collaborate with architecture, security, and infrastructure teams on strategic initiatives
Mentor and develop junior engineers
Ensure networks remain secure, compliant, and highly available
Skills & Experience
Strong experience in a senior Network Engineer or Network Lead position
Aruba and Fortinet networking expertise
Experience within OT / industrial network environments
LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, routing and switching technologies
Fibre optic network design, deployment, and support
Network security, segmentation, and firewall management
Experience delivering network migrations and transformation programmes
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Experience leading teams and mentoring engineers
Excellent stakeholder and vendor management skills
