We’re looking for a talented Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and highly skilled Children’s Community Health Team in Surrey. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and families, working within a service that values creativity, autonomy and professional development.

As part of our Paediatric Therapy team, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a wide range of complex needs. You’ll use your specialist skills to complete assessments, deliver impactful interventions, and empower families to help their children thrive.

What you will be doing?

  • Providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and therapy for children with varied and complex developmental needs
  • Using evidence‑based practice to create child‑centred intervention plans that support meaningful progress in home, educational and community settings
  • Managing and prioritising your own caseload with autonomy, while receiving support from an experienced Band 7
  • Communicating sensitively and clearly with parents, carers and professionals, ensuring families feel supported and heard
  • Working collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team, including paediatricians, education staff and external agencies
  • Supervising junior staff, assistants and students, and contributing to their development
  • Producing clear, high‑quality clinical reports and documentation
  • Delivering training to parents and professionals
  • Contributing to service improvement initiatives, audits and development projects
  • Maintaining your professional growth through CPD, reflective practice and supervision

  • What We Are Looking ForEssential

    • Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
    • HCPC registration
    • Post‑graduate training or equivalent experience in:
        • Child development
        • Autism, ADHD or neurodevelopmental conditions
        • Specialist paediatric approaches
    • Solid experience working with children in paediatric practice
  • Ability to travel across Surrey (car driver required)
  • Desirable

    • Membership of a paediatric or AHP Special Interest Group
    • Clinical Educator qualification
    • Experience in a community paediatric therapy service
    • Experience working within the NHS

    Other requirements: the successful applicant will need to be a car driver
