Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

We are excited to be able to offer a post for an experienced mental health pharmacist to work with our pharmacy team at NELFT. This post would appeal to those who are ambitious and would like to develop their service development and leadership skills in a supportive environment. The post holder will work closely with the consultant pharmacist for children and young people (CYP) part of a multidisciplinary team, addressing the needs of service users.
The post holder will be responsible for managing patients in the child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) in-patient unit and children and young people's services in community services.
Successful applicants will be required to ensure safe and effective medicines management processes within children's services. This will include compliance with regulatory medicines management standards and implementation of medicines safety alerts.
The post holder must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), have strong clinical and organisational skills and be able to effect change. They need to be able to work independently, be self driven and highly motivated. The primary role of the post holder will be to progress services for our community services within the Trust, supporting the Chief Pharmacist and Consultant Pharmacist in developing and implementing the Trust Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation strategy in the CAMHS specialist area.
The post holder will be expected to have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council, Clinical Pharmacy and/or Psychiatric Therapeutics (up to diploma level) postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience, and significant post registration experience in a mental health setting.
