Qualifications

Essential

• MPharm or equivalent degree in pharmacy
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Additional post-registration Postgraduate Diploma/MSc in Clinical Pharmacy or Independent Prescriber Qualification (masters level)

Desirable

• Registration with Royal Pharmaceutical Society

Knowledge & Nature of Experience

Essential

• Previous experience in hospital pharmacy (Post-Registration)
• Previous experience contributing to the management of a digital clinical system (PostRegistration)
• Experience of developing and implementing service changes
• Experience of complex audit and implementation of change.
• Have a sound knowledge of legislation, national standards and good practice around medication supply, storage and prescribing/use in relation to digital systems.
• Understand the background and aims of current healthcare and digital policy

Desirable

• Experience in providing pharmacy services/pharmacist review to paediatrics
• Experience in providing specialist pharmacist review of people with cancer
• Experience of handling chemotherapy in any setting
• Experience of managing a clinical pharmacy service to a specialty on a day-to-day basis (e.g. whilst covering a more senior colleague)
• Experience of writing policies and procedures.
• Experience of developing business cases.

• Ability to analyse highly complex data relating to medication use and present in a way that actions and follow-up can be identified

Professional/Managerial/Specialist Knowledge

Essential

• Knowledgeable in clinical pharmacy

Knowledgeable in commonly used software such as Excel and Word

Experience in the use and maintenance of SACT e-prescribing system

Desirable

• Knowledgeable in clinical and technical aspects of cytotoxic chemotherapy provision
• Awareness of National initiatives with regards to development of chemotherapy services particularly SACT (systemic anti-cancer therapy) reporting

Personal Skills/Abilities and Attributes

Essential

• Strong interpersonal communication skills. Able to collaborate and negotiate successfully with internal and external staff groups at all levels
• Strong writing skills with evidence of report and policy writing.
• Effective organisational and time management skills. Ability to prioritise a complex workload and work accurately under pressure adjusting plans to reflect changing circumstances
• An ability to identify improvement and foster change in an ever-growing fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate alignment with the values and beliefs of the Trust
• Demonstrate an understanding of the practices of equality and inclusion in the delivery of this role
