Senior Platform Engineer - Elite Trading Firm - London - Up to £150k Base + 20-30% Bonus
Durlston Partners is working with a premier trading firm in London that is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join their team.
You will take ownership of the firm’s core platform infrastructure. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you will design, build, and scale the AWS and Linux environments that directly support the firm's quantitative research and live trading operations.
What You’ll Do
- Architect, deploy, and manage highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS.
- Deep-dive into Linux systems engineering, optimizing OS-level performance for high-throughput, latency-sensitive trading applications.
- Drive the firm's Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation strategy to eliminate manual toil and streamline deployments.
- Partner closely with quantitative researchers and software developers to provide a robust, frictionless platform that accelerates their workflows.
- Build and maintain comprehensive observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
What They’re Looking For
- Proven commercial experience as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), or DevOps Engineer.
- Expert-level Linux skills: Deep understanding of systems administration, kernel tuning, and OS internals.
- Strong AWS expertise: Hands-on experience designing and managing complex AWS environments (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, etc.).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and configuration management (e.g., Ansible).
- Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
- Bonus: Previous experience in a trading, financial, or highly regulated, high-performance environment.
