An exciting new opportunity has become available for a Senior Process Engineer (Electrode/Calendering) within our GME function. You will be on the forefront of designing, creating and implementing a brand-new manufacturing facility within an emerging industry. At the scale of this project, you will not only be delivering complex and cutting-edge technologies but also ensuring that this can be implemented successfully in a completely new environment.
Reporting Into The Process Engineering Manager, You Will

At the scale of this project, you will not only be delivering complex and cutting-edge technologies but also ensuring that this can be implemented successfully in a completely new environment.
Reporting Into The Process Engineering Manager, You Will
- Be the primary subject matter expert for Electrode Preparation/Calendering process.
- Develop the manufacturing process, including the design, control strategy and risk mitigation activity for key areas of the end-to-end production process
- Develop and maintain all process documentation; SWIs, PFMEAs, Control Plans and associated Quality Assurance requirements
- Lead the selection, implementation, commissioning and ramp-up of manufacturing equipment and capability
- Define implementation plans and associated actions to ensure compliance with targets for OEE, yield, cycle time and product quality throughout the industrialisation lifecycle

The team you'll join...
The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.
What You'll Bring...
- Degree qualified in a relevant Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Manufacturing)
- Experience as a Manufacturing or Process Engineer in a highly automated or controlled environment
- Specialism within Calendering, Electrode Prep or similar applications (e.g. press rolling, paper milling machinery)
- Experience of New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes and associated challenges or introducing new
- processes/plant.
- Excellent understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental considerations for process design
- Experience of delivering new manufacturing capability throughout the maturation lifecycle
- Experience of data analysis & excellent manufacturing problem solving skills
- Ability to strategically to define future requirements and capabilities.
- Experience from building and scaling production in a fast-growing environment ideally in the Battery or equivalent (e.g. Paper, Food).
