The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join our
Project Management Office (PMO) as a
Senior Project Manager.
In this role, you will bring significant project management expertise to successfully manage complex projects and programmes, delivering against business objectives across all Almac sites. You will lead by example in project management discipline, control, and delivery, driving best practice in scope management, accelerated delivery, and continuous improvement.
Projects may span
engineering, information systems, process improvement, and facilities initiatives, working with a diverse range of global stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate, plan, execute, and close complex projects and programmes, ensuring robust schedules, governance frameworks, and communication strategies
- Proactively manage risk, resolve issues, and drive accelerated delivery
- Maintain strong project control through established business processes (including GxP), budget management, and project documentation
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including Executive leadership, ensuring clear and accurate project reporting
Manage small programmes or large, complex projects and provide support and supervision to project management staffIdentify, recommend, and implement opportunities for continuous improvementAssess, deliver, and support training and mentoring initiatives within the department
What We Are Looking For
- We are keen to hear from candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification), ideally in Life Sciences, Mathematics, or IT, or who can demonstrate significant experience in a senior project management or programme management role - Current PRINCE2 or PMP Project Management certification
Essential Criteria:
- Significant, proven experience in senior project management or programme management roles, including detailed project planning, risk management, and resource balancing
- Experience preparing business cases and strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for stakeholders at all levels, up to and including Executive leadership
- Demonstrated leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience
- Direct interaction and communication with Executive-level project stakeholders
Desirable Criteria:
- Current PRINCE2 or PMP Project Management certification
- MBA (or equivalent qualification)
- Experience working within a GMP or regulated environment
- Experience working as a Scrum Master within an Agile environment
- Experience leading projects involving global or third-party participants
