Description

Lead the projects that actually matter.

At ATS, we don’t run projects for the sake of governance decks.

We deliver large, complex, strategic programmes for customers who depend on precision, accountability and results.

We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager who doesn’t just manage timelines — but leads outcomes.

The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will take full ownership of large strategic customer projects - from initial planning through execution, delivery, and post-implementation support.

You will operate at a senior stakeholder level, manage financial performance, lead and mentor project managers within your team, and work closely with the Programme Manager to support structured weekly and monthly reporting.

This role is about more than delivery.

It’s about leadership, influence and commercial accountability.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Delivering Large, Complex Strategic Projects

You will lead the end-to-end delivery of major customer initiatives - ensuring:

  • milestones are met,
  • budgets are controlled,
  • risks are mitigated,
  • and quality is never compromised.

Senior Stakeholder Management

You’ll build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, aligning delivery with business objectives and navigating competing priorities with confidence.

Financial & Commercial Ownership

  • Budget ownership
  • Forecasting & cost tracking
  • Financial reporting
  • Cost control & optimisation

You understand that successful delivery is both operational and financial.

Risk & Issue Management

You proactively identify risk early, build mitigation strategies, and manage complexity with calm, structured thinking.

Team Leadership & Line Management

You won’t just run projects - you will develop people.

You will:

  • Conduct regular 1:1s
  • Lead mid-year and annual performance reviews
  • Create progression and development plans
  • Provide constructive feedback
  • Manage capacity and holiday planning
  • Build a high-performing, accountable team culture

  • Programme Reporting

You will prepare and present clear, executive-level reporting to programme boards and senior management - ensuring transparency, clarity and decisive action.

    What Success Looks Like

You communicate with clarity and authority.

    You influence without ego.

    You present with confidence.

    You solve problems without drama.

    Specifically:

    • Exceptional presentation and communication skills
    • Proven leadership of high-performing teams
    • Strong influencing capability across diverse stakeholder groups
    • Ownership mindset - you take accountability for outcomes
    • Structured financial management capability
    • Demonstrable track record delivering complex projects successfully
  • You’ve done this before. And you’re ready to do it at scale.

    Why ATS?

We are proud to have been certified as a Great Place to Work® in 2023 and 2024.

But what that really means is:

    • We invest in our people.
    • We care about development.
    • We expect high performance - and support it properly.
    • We build long-term careers, not short-term roles.

Our people feel valued, engaged and empowered - and that translates directly into the outcomes we deliver for our customers.

    What We Offer

    Working with ATS UK means:

    • Hybrid working (many roles hybrid or fully remote)
    • 23 days annual leave, increasing annually to 28 days by year 5, plus bank holidays
    • Private healthcare
    • Paid family support days
    • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
    • Enhanced company sick pay
    • Salary sacrifice pension
    • Home office provision (for hybrid/remote roles)
    • Discretionary performance-related bonus
    • Fee-free mortgage service & financial wellbeing advice
    • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
    • Life assurance
    • Employee away days

    Important Eligibility Requirement

Due to the nature of our customer operations and the requirement to obtain Security Clearance, we are only able to accept applications from UK Citizens

    .

    Final Word

If you are a delivery leader who:

    • thrives in complexity
    • owns financial outcomes
    • develops people
    • and wants to lead projects that truly matter

We’d like to hear from you.
