Reporting to the Head of PMO, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the initiation, planning, delivery and closure of (i) new product development projects – on time; to specification; to product cost; within planned budget and (ii) product improvement projects whether it be cost reduction or performance improvement. These projects will have small-medium size development teams (typically <20 engineers and scientists) and will also involve leadership of company-wide cross-functional teams. and will be located in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.

In this role, a typical day will look like

Technically capable – capable of understanding customer and product technologies

Strong motivational leadership with the ability to influence others without direct authority and the ability to instil a sense of urgency within the team

Champion the project, ensuring clarity of vision and effective communication with key stakeholders; using strong written and verbal communication skills

Degree in Engineering/Science or equivalent work experience

Demonstrable product development experience with extensive cross-functional exposure in a relevant high-tech industry; with cross-functional project management experience

Demonstrated success in leading at least one significant new product development from conception to launch

Project Management qualification, e.g. APM is highly desirable

Other

• Full UK driving license
