About the role

The Senior Psychosocial Lead will help us to continue to develop our governance, our psychosocial education pathway and wellbeing support for our people. The role includes day-to-day clinical oversight of the teams, and of families in crisis.
Alongside responsibilities as a service manager, we anticipate the Senior Psychosocial Lead will have one day a week of client-facing work, offering family therapy. Family Therapy is not something weve offered at SSCH before, but we see the need for this. The goal is to provide an intervention that can respond to the relational issues, conflict, communication, trauma and emotional distress families can experience in their grief.
The Senior Psychosocial Lead will work alongside our psychosocial service leads and senior clinicians, and will act as a deputy to the Head of Psychosocial Services.

It is delivered by a passionate, multi-disciplinary team of social workers, family support workers, counsellors, events team and physio, arts, trauma and complementary therapists. We are a compassionate, forward-thinking, creative and courageous team who strive for the very best for families.
Please note: while this role can be predominantly based in either Guildford or Hampton, the post holder must be able and willing to work across both hospices. There will also be some travel required within the community as well as a need to work some hours outside 9am-5pm to supervise out of hours provision.
About you
We are looking for a counsellor, psychotherapist, arts therapist or clinical psychologist with a qualification in family therapy to be our Senior Psychosocial Lead.
This role requires previous experience of working in healthcare, a hospice or palliative care. Someone who can demonstrate their experience as a manager, in service development and compassionate leadership.
