About The Role

Balfour Beatty is seeking to recruit a Senior Quality Advisor to join the BBNP Project, based in Inverness or Aberdeen. This role offers the opportunity to play a key leadership part in embedding quality excellence across a major infrastructure programme.

Role Purpose

The Senior Quality Advisor will drive a Right First Time culture by advising and supporting project teams in the effective management, coordination, submission, and compliance of all assurance activities. The role will ensure assurance-related issues are proactively resolved, quality management processes are fully implemented, and continuous improvement initiatives are embedded across the project.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders, the Senior Quality Advisor will provide clear guidance, promote best practice, and ensure quality standards are consistently met in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide subject matter expertise to project and work winning teams to facilitate the implementation of effective quality management processes.
  • Monitor, analyse and report Quality performance relating to agreed business or project KPIs, communicating risks and opportunities.
  • Supervise Quality resources and allocate responsibilities and tasks.
  • Ensure the customer and other standards’ requirements are clearly understood and that quality control mechanisms are in place that provide assurance that the asset and/or service delivers as designed/required.
  • Coach and advise delivery teams in using the appropriate digital quality and governance systems, and managing issues as required.
  • Maintain local quality processes as part of the Quality management system, ensuring processes remain effective, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Lead local and supplier audits in line with programme objectives, and support with BB and external certification audits.
  • Coordinate with others to produce and handover project and/or business quality deliverables.
  • Implement quality development and training programmes for business / project teams and local quality resources.
  • Encourage the sharing of good practice and learning to embed continual improvement.
  • Contribute to the implementation of Management Review(s) and delivery of agreed actions.
  • Undertake investigations of high-risk quality-related issues as required, ensuring robust corrective and preventive actions are identified.
  • Implement continual improvement actions to support the delivery of quality-related strategic objectives as directed by local or senior leadership.

  • Who we're looking for

    • Skilled Quality Management professional, with ability to implement associated methodologies, tools and applications.
    • Level 4+ Qualification in Quality, Construction or Manufacturing (relevant industry).
    • Ability to communicate effectively and build influential relationships with a variety of stakeholders (quality and non-quality).
    • Gathers, analyses and evaluates facts whilst remaining objective and impartial.
    • Ability to challenge existing methods and ways of thinking.
    • Awareness of information management and change management principles.

    Desirable

    • CQI Practitioner Member (PCQI).
    • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor trained.
