About The Role

We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer to champion the foundational pillars of our stack: reliability, scalability, and performance. This is a hands-on technical role centered on the architectural evolution of systems designed to handle massive production loads.

You'll own the design and implementation of revenue-critical platforms powering real-time bidding, audience targeting, and inventory management across Europe. You'll move beyond functional code to build systems that are observable, resilient, and highly performant. This is not a support role, you will actively shape how our systems are designed, built, and operated at scale while also acting as a mentor and point of contact for the more junior members of the engineering team.

What you’ll be doing

- Design and evolve high-throughput services with a focus on observability, fault tolerance, and cost-efficiency. You’ll own capacity planning and define the SLOs that keep our revenue-critical systems stable.

- Identify and resolve bottlenecks across APIs and data pipelines. You will optimize code and queries to minimize latency and maximize throughput under real-world production loads.

- Champion clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD. You’ll lead design reviews and introduce the metrics necessary to measure and improve long-term system health and maintainability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate complex trade-offs. As a mentor and POC, you will shape the technical roadmap of our advertising platforms and foster a culture of excellence.

What you’ll bring to the team

- Strong experience building and operating production-grade software systems using NodeJS, Typescript and React

- Experience designing distributed systems and cloud-based architectures in AWS

- Demonstrated ability to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability

- Deep understanding of non-functional requirements and how they influence architecture

- Experience working with observability, monitoring, and performance analysis tools

- Experience contributing to or establishing engineering standards across teams

- Strong coding ability and a pragmatic approach to improving existing systems

- Clear communication skills and the ability to influence across teams
