About the Role: To work within the Materials Laboratory Team for the Project Design Unit both in the Laboratory and on construction sites, etc. throughout the Highland Council Area.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for administration and quality systems of the materials testing laboratory.
- Responsible for testing materials in the laboratory and on site in accordance with current British/European Standards.
- Responsible for the supervision of materials testing laboratory staff.
- Responsible for scheduling tests.
- Responsible for reporting of test results via LMS (Laboratory Management System).
- Responsible for calibration and maintenance of test equipment in accordance with UKAS requirements.
Qualifications: Eng Tech Qualification or NC/HNC Civil Engineering with seven years experience, or equivalent in a science/engineering related subject, or equivalent experience in an equivalent technical role.
Required Skills: You may be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Highland to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Valid driving licence. Given the rural nature of the area covered by this post, the post holder may be required to have a valid driving licence to enable them to carry out their duties.
